Julekage

I'm, proudly, an American...but I'm Scandinavian. Disclaimer: Julekage (Christmas Bread) is NOT fruitcake. It's basically a cinnamon raisin bread with walnuts and candied cherries added and, instead of cinnamon, the predominant flavor is cardamom.
 
This bread is great just sliced with some salted butter but toasting it is even better!
